Donna is a lawyer with her own law firm, Donna Sigel Platt, P.C. In addition to her private practice, which includes family, real estate and business law,
she is also a municipal prosecutor throughout the County of Camden in the State of New Jersey. As Municipal Prosecutor, Donna has prosecuted countless animal
abuse cases over the years. It has been through these cases that she learned first-hand how family pets become victims of domestic violence households.
Bernadette is an Advocate in the Municipal Court Advocacy Program. She interviews victims of domestic violence in Municipal Court while the abuser is being prosecuted
for committing a form of domestic violence. Through Bernadette’s extensive training, knowledge and experience in domestic violence matters, she is able to guide each victim to the
appropriate resource and support system. During this process, she learned first-hand that many abusers also victimize the family pet.
